Suggest Medication For Abdominal Pain, Nausea And Frequent Vomiting

my son has had abdominal pain and nausea with frequent vomiting. He has lost 20 pounds in the last 2 months. Do you have some idea of what might be the cause? He is taking Omeprazole and we are trying to get him into a gastroenterologist.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your son have symptoms of abdominal pain, nausea and frequent vomiting which seems to be due to electrolyte imbalance in body due to viral infection leading to acute gastroenteritis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start treatment with combination of fluoroquinolones and ornidazole. You should get intravenous fluid administration as well. Visit gastroenterologist once and get it examined and start treatment after prescription. You should get barium meal study done if symptoms exaggerating. Avoid hot, sharp and spicy food. You can take banana on daily basis and light food. You should avoid taking dairy products in excess. Drink plenty of fluids to rehydrate yourself.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
