Suggest Lighter Alternative For Prednisone

Hi
My son was in the hospital for already a month and he had diarehea and vomid. He still in the hospital this happened when my pedeatrition doctor gave anti biotics for the ear infection. And im still in the hospital and im worried. Its a very long process they also offered prednisone is this medicine a mach for a 5 month old baby.

Hi.
Your son has been admitted and under treatment for a month. The Doctors give medicines like prednisone only if they think it is needed the most. So continue , to get out of the present problem is more important that thinking of prednisone.
A better alternative can be deflazacort, which have lesser side effects than prednisone.
Please discuss this with your treating Doctor/s.
