Suggest Lifestyle Changes To Lead Healthy Life In Case Of Bipolar Disorder

I am 26 years of age. I was diagnosed with mood bipolarity four years back. Since then I am on medication. Presently I am on Lithosun SR 400( twice daily), Oleptal OD 300(twicedaily) and quitipaine 50 (once daily). I have become overweight and have been unable to continue my career. I wish to know what lifestyle changes I can incorporate along with medication to reach a healthy life at the earliest. More so would it be right to think ahead and embark on a marital life only if I find an understanding and caring suitor? i wish to pursue higher studies too but I do not know whether my concentration levels would permit me. Presently I am doing well apart from bouts of anger rarely. Thank you.

Stress is a major cause of consuming unhealthy foods and overeating. It causes physiological changes that affect mood.
If you get overweight, it will only make you feel worse than before. Therefore, overeating will make you feel unhappy. It is the way you put yourself in a vicious circle that is hard to break.
On the other hand, consumption of carefully selected healthy foods have a positive effect. Such foods will boost your mood and reduce anxiety. Proper diet, not only can help you feel calm and satisfied, but also can reduce the damage that stress does to your body.
Manage Stress With The Best Foods
When you are under severe stress – constantly occupied with various duties; going through a difficult emotional period etc, you need to know that the food you consume at this level is the most important.

1. Protein. A small amount of high quality protein helps in regulating of blood sugar levels, improves mood and gives you more energy.
Manage stress with foods rich in protein or vegan source protein.
2. Bananas contain dopamine, a natural chemical that boosts your mood. They are rich in vitamin B6, which helps to ease your nervous system. They also has magnesium – another nutrient responsible for positive mood.
3.Fruits and vegetables
4.divide your meal in 6 small quantity meals.
5.consume brown bread,brown sugar,brown rice instead of white.
6.regular exercise (brisk walk for atleast 45 min)
