Dear Doctor: I have been suffering from bilateral chronic sinusitis (due to allergy) plus eustachian tube block leading to deposition of fluid in the middle ears plus post-nasal drip leading to hoarseness of voice for last 12 months. I can hear very little (audiometry shows hearing loss @ 55-65 dbl). I hardly can talk; need to put lot of efforts to just utter a few words. Being a senior level job holder in the development sector I find it is very difficult without proper hearing and speaking ability. I had my eardrums opened and grommet inserted 6 times; had a number of times with antibiotics, decongestant, nasal steroid sprays with little or no success. i had my sines operated on by endoscopic surgery, but the symptoms of eustachian tube block re appered just after a couple of months. Lastly I tried some homeopathy treatment, e.g. causticum, hepar sulph and Kali bi-carb. However until now my tubes are not opened and hoarseness of voice continues.
