Suggest Formula Feed For Newborn Babies

i have a prematurely born baby who is now two and half months old. he is gaining weight normally wihout any complication except reflux at times, constant gas formation and constipation. due to less production of breastmilk, he was feeding on dexolac premium 1 then nan pro1. my doc suggested isomil for a change. since my babay is not lactose intolerant(tested in lab) should i change to isomil ,as i am concerned because it is soy based and difficult to digest. which formula feed should i go for?

Hi,

Hope you are in your best of health.

The formula feeds can cause gas problems and constipation. It is hard to tackle and even if you change the formula feed, it can persist. The gas problem can be reduced by giving the feed by holding the baby at somewhat 45 degree angle on your elbow. And after the feed, try to dab the back of baby with a cupped palm from bottom upwards, holding the baby on your shoulder. Hold the baby such that the stomach should press against your shoulder.

Changing the feeds, you can try. But it may take sometime for the baby to get adjusted with new formula.

Hope it answered your query.
