Hi,

From given height (assuming its 5.3 ft, not inch) and weight, your BMI (body mass index) is 25.7. By definition, it is falling under overweight category, and not obesity (BMI of 30 or more). For your height, ideal weight is 48-65 kgs, so its only marginally high.

For weight reduction, diet modification and exercise both will help, although its effect depends on a many other factors like familial predisposition for obesity and our endocrine status.

Take a diet that is low in calories(cereals, snacks, bakes, energy drinks) and fat (oils, ghee, diary products) but adequate amount of protein (egg yolk, pulses, meet&poultry) and plenty of fruits and vegetables. Avoid interval snacks, candies, deserts and energy drinks as far as possible. Limit screening time to less than 2 hours a day You can take the advise from a dietician for a comprehensive advise.

Regular exercise for minimum 45 minutes(continues) a day is suggested. Also, keep a track on your blood pressure also, as this tend to increase with weight. Continue this for a minimum 3 months to see the trend as one month is too early to comment.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
