Suggest Dosage Of Keflex For The Treatment Of UTI

Fluconazole was prescribed today for a yeast infection following a 10 day course of Keflex for a UTI. I have had a previous liver function disruption with Prosac some years ago and read that there are liver concerns with Diflucan. What is the usual dosage for this medication? There was a question of what the insurance would cover, which was 300 MGs not 500. When I got the medication, there was only 100 MGs.

Hi,

You may use 250 mg every 6th hourly or 500 mg every 12 the hourly should be administered.

Sorry about your financial condition, I think you may get Nitrofurantoin tablets.

Please post whatever medication you have and will advise you accordingly.

You may also take Nitrofurantoin or Sulfadoxine and Pyrimethamine.

Drink plenty of water, avoid smoking and caffeine drinks.

Please consult your physician, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
