Suggest Diet Plans To Reduce Burning Sensation In Stomach And Intestine

Dear sir I have had pain in my stomach and intestinal tract for two weeks. I spoke to my doctor last week and told him I have a gastrointestinal problem. He has referred me to a specialist. In the mean, I need to know what I should include in my diet to reduce or eliminate the burning sensation in my stomach and intestinal track. Also, what should I eliminate in my diet.

Welcome to HealthCare Magic. Thank you for posting your query.
I can understand your concern.

You could be suffering from gastritis or peptic ulcer disease or gastro-esophageal reflux disease or intestinal ulcers or inflammatory bowel disease.

It is difficult to make a pin point diagnosis without actually examining you. You may need an upper GI endoscopy ,a colonoscopy or even a double balloon enteroscopy to help the diagnosis part.

I would suggest you to
-     Drink loads of water
-     Avoid oily,spicy food
-     Have a diet rich in fibres
-     I would start tablet Pantoprazole . Your doctor can guide on the exact dosage
-     I would also start syrup Lactulose to soften your stool
- Get a blood haemoglobin , total count , ESR, electrolytes, amylase ,lipase, liver function test done
-     Avoid straining during stool

I would also suggest you to visit a gastro-enterologist . He/she can examine you and correlate clinically.

Hope this helps.
