Suggest Cure For Diarrhea

I have a friend who is diabetic. She had a sugar crash during the night (around 60). Her solution was to drink 2 glasses of orange juice with some sugar added to it. Her blood sugar then spiked to over 200. This morning she was complaining of upset stomach and diahrea. what would have been a proper snack to better her blood sugar.

Orange juice with sugar can also be taken but the reason for her diarrhoea could be contamination of juice or stress due to hypoglycemia. When blood sugar levels fall below 70 mg/dl or when a diabetes patient has hypoglycemia, then you can give 3 teaspoons of sugar (sucrose)/glucose/ 3-4 glucose biscuits to treat hypoglycemia symptoms. Check blood sugar levels after 15 minutes using a glucometer to see how much blood sugar level has increased and if she needs more glucose then administer again 15 gm or 3 teaspoons of sugar or glucose in a glass of water (200ml). After her sugar returns to normal say 100-120 mg/dl, give some carbohydrate and protein rich snack like cheese sandwiches or a cup of puffed rice with roasted bengal gram, sprouts etc. so that blood sugar level doesn't drop again at night. Hope your doubt is clear and if you need more advice pertaining to diabetes, then you can ask me again.
