Hi,

Based on the details given your father seems to be suffering from tuberculosis of lymph nodes for which his doctor advised the medications. Table forecox contains 4 antibiotics rifampicin (225 mg) + isoniazid (150 mg) + ethambutol (400 mg) + pyrazinamide (750 mg).

As per WHO the recommended doses of each of the above mentioned antibiotics is as follows:
* Rrifampicin: 15 mg/kg/d (10 to 20 mg/kg/day)
* Isoniazid: 10 mg/kg/d (10 to 15 mg/kg/day)
* Pyrazinamide: 35 mg/kg/d (30 to 40 mg/kg/day)
* Ethambutol: 20 mg/kg/d (15 mg to 25 mg/kg/day)

The tablet forecox is more effective as compared to R-Cinex hence take forecox tablet as prescribed by your doctor.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
