Suggest Correct Dosage Of Thyroid Medication For TSH Of 8.94

Hi.
I have Hypothyroid for past 3.5 years and using thyronorm(levothyroxine). Till last month used 100 mcg. But as my TSH is low doctor advised me to reduce the dose. Now my TSH is 8.94..how much dose, i need to use and how to maintain the dosages without fluctuiations, plz guide me, and Im putting on weight continuously how to tackle that?

Hi,

The information regarding to Levothyroxine dose adjustment is incomplete. If you reduced it from 100 to 50 mcg and the TSH resulted 8.9 while you were taking 50 mcg for more than one month, i would suggest to take 75 mcg for 6 weeks and than check the TSH level.If you reduced it from 100 to 75 mcg, then I would recommend 87.5 mcg (one day 100 mcg and one day 75 mcg).
