Suggest Complications With Yeast Infection In Throat

A friend of ours has throat cancer. He is undergoing chemo and radiation. Now he has a yeast infection in his throat, too. Also, he has lost his voice and he has to whisper in our ear for us to hear him, so he is very close to our nose, mouth, etc. Is the yeast infection contagious? Thank you.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, let me tell you little about your friends treatment, any cancer patient who is undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy will have reduced immunity which makes them susceptible to fungal infection, which usually cannot infect any normal person, so you don't have to worry, take care.
