Hello and welcome to HCM,
The indication for abortion in your wife's case was a 'blighted ovum'.
No doubt pregnancy was present, there was development of gestational sac along with development of fetal pole.
However, the fetus did not develop cardiac activity or heart activity.
This type of pregnancy is common especially in first pregnancies.
There is nothing to worry much.
You can try with further pregnacy.
Good ante-natal care is all that is required.
Rest of the blood tests are done to rule out infections and other routine tests like blood glucose levels, bleeding time, clotting time and blood group.

Thanks and take care
