Suggest Cause And Remedy For Constipation In Newborn

So my daughter is 10 days old and is having a lot of constipation. I have been giving her Breastmilk and formula (mixed together) when she eats. I am not sure what is causing the constipation. I have been taking fenugreek and have read that it can cause GI symptoms in both mother and baby, so I am thinking it could be that. But if it is not, I will obviously have to switch formulas. I was able to get her to poop yesterday by sticking a rectal thermometer up there and what came out was a paste of brown poop with little white specks mixed in. My questions are, how long does it take fenugreek to leave a babies system? What is the best formula for constipation? and do the white specks mean anything?

You have mentioned the frequency of her stools. Bowel habit of newborn babies varies widely, some passes 6-8 stools / day while others do once in 6-8 days. If babies are otherwise fine and feeding well, nothing to be worried.
