General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
A this time when your baby is on breast feeding your period might be absent or might be irregular.
During this time there might not be having ovulation so there is no risk of having pregnancy but when you start ovulation and get pregnant is not sure so take precautions to avoid pregnancy.
At this time best is to use condom as oral contraceptive is not advisable due to feeding your baby.
Once menstrual period is regular then use safe period i.e. roughly first and last week of period.
Ok and take care.
