Hello,

You are 36yrs of age and are suffering from depression. You are on Prozac. Getting dependent on medicines will only give you temporary relief. Taking any medicine for a prolonged period will cause you to get either addicted to it or may even cause side effects. Side effects include sudden changes in mood, behaviors, thoughts, or feelings, if you experience all these you should report the changes to the healthcare provider.

If you are on anti-depressives and continue to feel stressed up, depressed then the medicines are only helping you partially. You should try to help yourself naturally also by hearing to some good music, spend time with loved ones, assess your diet, spend time walking, exercising or swimming / cycling.

Quit smoking, alcohol, drugs or addictions if any. Get enough sleep, when problems give you anxiety then assess them in parts not as a whole. Have control over your emotions, spend time in nature, do everything that you enjoy, do not avoid yourself. Meet yourself where you are. Set routines for yourself and reward yourself at times. You can get connected to a Physical therapist, you may need CBT, massage therapy etc., for dealing with depression naturally.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hi,

Prozac is a drug used to treat depressive condition besides treating obsessive compulsive disorders as well as panic episodes. However, for best results, its regular use is recommended. sometimes, if the effect is less or it becomes less, the dose of Prozac might have to be increased.

Once the effective dose is reached, then after sometimes, gradual tapering off the drug may be tried under guidance of your doctor. BUPROPION and MIRTAZAPINE are the newer drugs to treat the depression and now are considered the first choice in the treatment of depressive conditions.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
