Suggest An Alternative Treatment For Shooting Pains In My Right Foot,

I have shooting pains in my right foot, mostly late in the day. I ve been to podiatrists, neurologists, and orthopedic surgeons; I ve had an MRI on my spine and foot/ankle, and 2 EMGs. Tests showed no visible scar tissue, no spinal disc problems, and the nerves that could be tested in my foot looked young for my age. I m 59. I have been prescribed gabapentin, and it helps, but I want to fix the problem, not medicate it. Any ideas about what this could be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Shooting pain is suggestive of neuropathy of some sort underlying responsible for nerve endings irritation and said features. I would like to recommend continuation of gabapentin and add zinc with vitamin E in the drug port folio, which helps a great extent as nerve nutrition and regeneration. Later on have an option of discussing the need of mono clonal antibodies to control basic nerve pathology in terms of neuropathy or other modalities to cure it better sound way.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
