Suggest An Alternative Medicine To Yasmin

I took yasmin from january to april but faced scanty periods so i was advised to take novelon and that month my periods were better but i took yasmin again in june but this time my periods were really scarce..just a little spotting.should i continue to take novelon or can u suggest me some other contraceptive pill which has no weight gain side effects and is equally effective as yasmin.

Hello,

Let me tell you that both Yasmin and Novelon are combination oral contraceptive pills. Both contain synthetic progesterone and Ethinyl estradiol.

The basic difference between the two is the dose of progesterone. Yasmin contains much more progesterone than novelon.

Let me also tell you that almost all oral contraceptive combinations will cause weight gain and so I suggest go with Novelon as it suits you better.
