Suggest An Alternative Medication For Motrin Prescribed For Cervical Neuralgia

I was recently diagnosed with a peptic ulcer. I think that I got it from taking too many Motrin 800mg s for my severe cervical neuralgia (neck and shoulder pain) with spasms. I am now in so much pain everyday all day because my Dr. d/c d the motrin. What can i take for this pain that wont affect my ulcer? I ve already tried everything topical.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Any pain reliever medicine should be avoided in case of ulcer or gastritis.
Try to get relief by applying some local analgesic cream.
If it is a must then take paracetamol tablet with some antacid like Omeprazole.
Take with full stomach.
Ok and take care.
