Suggest An Alternative Blood Thinner In Place Of Asprin

Hi Doc! I used tp take tenormin, moduratic, amlodopine and one (1) baby aspirin to controll my HBP. One day i developed a stomach bleed and have been taken off the aspirin and was told that I needed to change my BP mediaction. My GP tried with Diovan but without much success. I am now on Atacand + and Concor but my BP is still above normal. Should I use another blood thinner since I no longer use aspirin?

Welcome.
You have not mentioned your age & sex.
Maintain your B P at less than 140/90 for age less than 40 yrs & less than 150/90 at age less than 60 yrs.
Aspirin is not for blood pressure. You can take it with Pantaprazole.
There was no need to change the medicines for B P & Doctor so frequently.
Your B P would be controlled by the same medicines.
Doctor will increase the maximum dose & find out the cause of resistant
B P .
All medicines are good & effective unless they cause side effects.
In place of aspirin your doctor may advise clopedigrel or prasugrel if you are less than 60 yrs.
Avoid alcohol,junk food,coffee,smoking,salty & fatty food.
Consult your doctor before changing any medicine.
S tic to one doctor & follow instructions carefully.
Thanks.
