Suggest Alternative Medicine Of Primolut-N For Cervical Erosion

Hi Dr! Im 47 years of age. Last night I was prescribed Primolut N for the 1st time. I was diagnosed with an erosion of the cervix, a big scratch it seems. I have noticed a brownish spotting for long periods of time inbetween periods. My question is the following...Primolut N is a synthetic hormone with severe side-effects. Is there a better alternative to use?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Primolut N is an oral contraceptive and is not known to be effective for cervical erosion. Your doctor has probably advised it for treating bleeding in between your periods. you have. Treatment for erosion needs treatment of infection and inflammation of cervix followed by cervical cauterization to heal the erosion. You need to consult a gynecologist for specific diagnosis and treatment you need.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
