Suggest Alternative Medicine For Arycor

I have atrial fibrillation.i take 1x200mg Arycor per day.it is no longer helping me.The cardiologist says the next step is to fit a pacemaker.i have 3 questions...if I have it fitted do I still have to take the arycor?Is there a more modern drug that is better than arycor?(I am very obese although I am on a diet)how long does the battery in the pacemaker last and do you have to have surgery again to change the battery?

Hello,

Even though many medications there for tachyarrthmias but amiodarone work better. Drug is effective or not depend upon the follow up ECG and rhythm status and how symptomatic your etc.

If no response to 200mg means doctor may change to 400 mg per day. so don't worry. If no improvement with it then we may suggest cardiac defib implantation. So please follow with your cardiologist or electrophysiologist he will examine and advice right treatment for you.
