Suggest Alternative Medication For High Fever For An 8-year-old
I had my 8 Yr old into the er this morning for a fever that started at 100 and with in one hour was up to 104.04. At the er she had a heart rate of 140bpm and was vomiting and complaining of head ache and belly ache. Fluids were pushed. Not UTI (urine test) blood work was not worry some just elevated white cells. Now she is home and complaint of head ache, belly hurts and getting a fever again. It is at 100.1 I did give he Ibuprofen but kind of concerned. She has slept all day. She is fighting something but what?
Giving her ibuprofen is good and the fever will go down soon. Just remembered to give right dosage 300 mg of ibuprofen. Since all blood tests are normal you should not worry because it can be a viral infection. Feed her well. If she continues to be lethargic, has stuff neck and can't stand light send her to ER again.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
