Hi,
As I'm unable to examine you directly or take a proper history, I'm of the following opinion:
1. when a patient complains of
chest pain, the following is my symptoms wise approach:
i. Is it related to heart [cardiac pain]?
ii. Is chest pain related to breathing [Pleural pathology]?
iii. Is chest pain related to Chest wall [any local rib/ intercostal tenderness]
iv. Is chest pain related to food [
retrosternal pain & increases on swallowing or occur after meals]
2. If the pain is mild and air entry is normal then one can start with a short course of
steroids with
analgesic and anti-inflammatory tablets along with
bed rest. However, if the pain is not relieved in 4-5 days, ask for an X-ray chest and/or Cardiologist Opinion.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
