Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. There are a number of medications used for treatment of ADHD in children. Of these medicines, the stimulants are the most frequently prescribed and are usually the most effective. There are two kinds of stimulants: Adderall is an example of one kind and Ritalin is an example of the other kind. While it is true that both kinds can have the same side effects, because a child has side effects with Adderall does NOT mean she will experience them with the Ritalin.

If you have any further questions, I will be happy to help.
