Suggest OTC For Chest Congestion

I am breastfeeding and have been battling a chest cold, with typical symptoms: cough, yellowish mucus, some clear drainage, swollen glands on right side of neck, no fever, no aches. Normally I would take dayquil/nyquil, but since I am nursing that is out of the question. It started out with sore throat when swallowing, but with use of herbs that is gone, just trying to eliminate this congestion and coughing. Any OTC that would help. I have read online that Robitussin is safe while nursing? Been fighting this since July 1st.

Hello.

Plain Robitussin would be fine but I'd suggest Dimetapp as a better choice.

That said, it sounds like you might need a course of antibiotics so I suggest you have your doctor check you out
