Suffering From Hypothyroidism, Why Do I Feel Low On Energy?
Hi... i am a 57 yr old female ..last 2 yrs have been taking Thyronorm 75 mg as suggested by doc . as i have hypothyroid. and my thyroid now is stable acc to tests. But my problem is I have lots of energy . I do exercise everyday for 2 hrs ( treadmill / stepper ? etc but do not feel tired at all . I have a lot of energy ..sometimes too much ..abt which I am worrried ? My stools are black ..but very normal . Otherwise I am quite ok . But even with so much exercise my weight does not go down . I am 77 Kgs ..and my height is 5 ft 9 inches. Can u tell me whats the problem here. Thx .
Hi thanks for using healthcaremagic.... It's nice to hear that you have lots of energy...Usually hypothyroidism causes lethargy..It means that you thyroid hormone is well replaced. About your weight issue.Hypothyroidism causes weight gain not more than 5% of the whole body weight.Hence we can't blame on thyroid for over weight always.Usually the weight has to become normal when the thyroid function becomes normal.Genetics play an important role in overweight. Along with regular exercise diet also has got an important role in weight reduction. Follow a proper diet along with proper exercise. Also check for thyroid profile periodically.Over replace to of thyroid hormone cause restlessness. thank you....
