Suffering From Heart Problems. Chest X-ray Done. Is Anything Serious In The Report?

My mother is suffering from heart problems since last 6-7 years . Recently we got a x-ray of her chest and x-ray report says like " Globar Cardiac Enlargement with Calcification at aortic knuckle

Patchy nonhomogenous opacities right upper and lower zone? infective. Left lung base obscured by cardiac shadow . Bony thoracic cage is normal.

Thanks for writing to HCM

Important findings are that there is patchy non homogeneous opacities in right upper and lower zone.It may be infective in etiology.So,trail of full course of antibiotics should be given.If it is due to infection then it will resolve.If it doesn't resolve then she need further investigation and treatment.

Other findings are related to aging and due to heart problems.She is having gross cardiomegaly.Also there is calcification at aortic knuckle which is age related.
So,she also need ECHO to assess cardiac status.
