Suffering From Flu, Slight Fever, Vomiting, Back Pain, Cough, Stomach Pain, Headache. Treatment?

Our 10 year old son seems to have the flu this week, but while I think he s had a slight fever off and on, and has been throwing up one or more times a day, he s complaining about his back hurting, in addition to head and stomach. He s got a slight cough , and has had, especially a year ago, what was diagnosed as possible gastritis . He says this feels differently--more flu-like. I m concerned that even not running a fever, his back sensitivity has gone on several days now, in addition to stomach and head ache.

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

I will appreciate if you had mentioned where exactly does your son complain of pain in the back. As fever has not been recorded it is difficult to correlate the two symptoms. I would suggest that you get your son examined by a doctor who will do a detailed clinical examination of the back and guide you.

As your son has a cough, the bad throat can be the reason for his vomiting. You can give him a decongestant cough syrup and discuss the issue with the doctor when you see him for the back pain.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son an early recovery.
