Suffering From Fibromyalgia, Permanent Neck And Back Injuries. Will Taking Tramadol Help?
I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia , from what I have been told it has come on due to a car accident I was in in 2008 as a result of this accident I have permanent neck and lower back injuries and have been dealing with cronic pain since that day. My sister was perscribed Tramadol and said it worked wonders for her and I am curious if it would be a possibility it would would work for me as well.
Hi and thanks for the query,
I am sorry, fibromyalgia is a rheumatologic and inflammatory disease, actually called fibromyalgia rheumatica It has classical presentation with muscle pain, fatigue, night sweats, and proximal muscle weakness. Diagnosis is mainly clinical with pain and fatigue in the proximal joints like the shoulders and hip joints. These symptoms associated with raised erythrocyte sedimentation rate or other markers of inflammation is always almost diagnostic. Treatment ranges from use of analgesics, non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs and steroids. Consulting your rheumatologist is a great idea.
Thanks and best regards,
Luchuo, MD.
