Suffering From UTI. Taking Antibiotics, Symptoms Still Present. Suggestions?

I am on an antibiotic for a UTI (given yesterday). I was told that symptoms should clear up rather quickly, or at least that I should feel some increased comfort, but I haven't noticed a change after having taken 100 mg of Nitrofur-Macr twice last evening and once already today. I still have symptoms of discomfort (lower pain) during urination and incontinence. Also, I have felt lightheaded and naseous, and I've read that this is normal. I am also drinking cranberry juice and resting. I am 44.

(1) Should I have incontinence, or is that more of a sign of cancer of the bladder? (2) When should I expect some allevation of symptoms?

Thank you

Hi and welcome to HCM. Thank you for your query.
First,UTI shouldnt cause incontinece.Second, antibiotic needs some more time to action. Third, cancer isnt first thing to think of. Incontinence is common sign in women especially if you had pregnancies. YOu should do pelvic ultrasound to check is there any particular cause of your incontinence and then it can be properly treated.
Wish you good health.
