Suffer From Acidity. Advised Antacid Oral Suspension, Omeprazole. No Use. Consult Gastroenterologist?

hi i am 28 years female suffering with Acidity from 2 months onwards, i have already consulted local physician here, she advised some antacid oral suspension and omeprazole tabs but i didnt find any use, i am confused whether for this acidity should i consult gastroenterologist or not, can you please advice.

Thanks for writing to HCM

You need proper clinical examination and investigations.
Investigations includes routine hemogram,Ultrasound of abdomen and upper GI endoscopy.
Other causes of acidity should also be assessed.
You can take sustained release pantoprazole tablet 40 md once daily for one month.
It should be assessed that whether it is stress related or not. Then it can be managed properly.

hello sonali..u have features of gastritis...in my opinion if u find no relief with the regular antacids its better u visit a gastroenterologist..he might do a endoscopic scan to have an inner view of your stomach and proceed accordingly..i would also advice u to avoid use of pain killers , quit alcohol , smoking and spicy food habits theses are gastric irritants and precipitate the state...in my experience i have seen patients benefit with these simple tips..
