Stiffness In Right Leg, Swollen, Uncomfortable To Move, Slightly Numb. Is It Pinched Nerve ?
I woke up this morning with my right leg feeling very stiff around the knee and uncomfortable to move. My leg feels slightly swollen and there is a bump/lump under the skin lateral and next to my knee that is squishy when I gently press on it. I m not really in any pain, I just feel a lot of pressure in my leg around the knee area while feeling slightly numb in my leg. I m not bruised, nor do I remember getting an injury to the area. My first reaction this morning was that I was bit by something but I couldn t find a bite mark. My next thought was a pinched nerve but I don t think that explains the slight swelling or the lump. Additionally, there wasn t any discoloration in my leg as of this morning.
If you regularly involve in knee bending activities, there might be a possibility of developing bursitis. Bursa are sac like structures present around the knee joint. When there is inflammation, fluid collection occurs and there is bursitis and swelling. This diagnosis must be confirmed by an orthopedician. This condition is treatable.
