Hello, Thanks for writing to us
From description , it seems you might developed muscular or ligamentous strain or sprain over back. Now after one year if it persist ,I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. You may get the MRI of the area affected under his/her guidance.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
It is less likely a lump lasting for one year is causally related to the pop and crack that you heard in your back while stretching. It is in fact unlikely that the lump is related to the spinal structures as such. If it is soft it may be a lipoma which is a common benign swelling containing fat cells. If the pain is increasing or the swelling is not resolving it is definitely advisable to see a doctor and have imaging if necessary.
