Sore Throat, Fever, Coughing Up Mucous. Solution?

My throat started hurting late Sunday evening and got worse Monday. I woke up with a fever and coughed up mucus with blood in it Tuesday and Wednesday. This dry cough is really irritating and it feels like my throat is sore. It hurts when I laugh and causes me to cough and choke at the same time--that's how dry it is. I keep clearing my throat but that doesn't help much. I'm not sure is this from sleeping in the air conditioner or what, but the hot tea and gargling is not helping either. Besides the fever I had for two days, I don't have any cold like symptoms. Can you help me?

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
It seems that you are having acute upper respiratory tract infection giving rise to all these problems.
Consult your doctor, you may require one course of antibiotic like Azithromicin and anti-inflammatory medicine.
Avoid fried, chillies and junk food.
Avoid cold drinks.
Ok and bye.
