Sore Throat, Cough, Loss Of Voice, Swollen Tender Glands On Neck. Glandular Fever?

I have a very sore throat and lost my voice, I've been taking antibiotics given to me by my doctor...but they haven't done anything. My glands are swollen on the right side of my neck...and is very tender, I also have an uncontrollable cough and feel very tired all the time, is this glandular fever? I am waiting for blood test results...to see if it is that, but I have to wait until Monday..

Hello

Thanks for writing to H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding severe sore throat and fever. You have also loss of voice and you are having enlarged and tender nodes on neck. Though you have taken antibiotics but still you didn't feel any improvement. Your bood report is awaited.

I feel that you should checked yourself for -

(a) F.N.A.C. of your neck lymph node to know about pathology.

(b) Culture and sensitivity of throat swab.

Till your reports are awaited you continue the same medicines you are taking, and after word it may be changed.

Regards.
