Hi there. My name is Vinay. I'm sorry about your bruised head. Let me see if I can put you at ease by giving you some basic information . With that you should be able to decide whether the lump needs to be seen by your local doctor or not.

Firstly.. Your description of the injury and the changes that the lump has gone through are practically textbook descriptions of a bruised scalp and underlying muscle.

Since you haven't mentioned any other symptoms other than the stinging.. i'm going to assume that you haven't had any visual problems, hearing issues, balance issues, excessive daytime drowsiness, nausea, vomiting or seizures since Saturday. If you have had or do have any of these issues.. get yourself to your doctor or the nearest ER right away.

When it comes to bruises on the head and scalp.. For the most part.. they are pretty forgiving and heal up very nicely. Warm and cold compresses can help deal with the discoloration and swelling.

Over the counter pain meds like Tyleonol (Acetaminophen), Ibuprofen or Naproxen should be able to tide you over from a pain point of view. But if you see yourself using these guys for more than a week continuously.. then I would make an appointment to see your doctor.. The pain is supposed to subside over time.

I really hope this information is helpful to you. If you feel I can help you further, don't hesitate to contact me through HCM.

Thanks,

Vin
