Sore On The Penis. No Itching Or Pain. What Are The Chances Of HPV?

I have a small circular red spot, looks like a sore on the shaft of my penis. It does not itch, burn or hurt, it occasionally will have a white scaly look to it, I have had one partner in the last 3 years, and she has been faithful too. She has been to the gynecologist annually and had no problems except for her last time where she could be at risk for
HPV. The red cirlce came out of no where and grew a tiny bit larger in size in the past couple days, could this be an STD?

Hi,
Welcome and thanks for posting your query to HCM.
The very first and important thing to tell you is that your problem is not HPV or simply to say warts. This is because warts are bit pointed or accuminate (thorn like) structures and never present as circular spot. So rest assured regarding the possibility of HPV.
Regarding possibility of sexually transmitted diseases you have not told about exact time period since the spot is present. Any associated symptom of pain itching or oozing from the same.
It would be better if you can consult a dermatologist or you can also take the help of our forum by sending a good quality photo of the spot so that we can guide you further.
Kindly avoid self medication or application of any creams from your side.
Hope it helps.
With good health wishes,
