I have a sore on the back of my thigh, it is between the buttuck and thigh, I been had it for six months already. Yes it stop me from going places because it hurt when I sat in some seats. Just tonight it look like a pool of blood when I got up. Please can you help.
6 months is too long for a normal infection to persist.
If I was your treating doctor I would have wanted you to get a pus culture sensitivity from the sore, to determine the causative organism.
Empirical oral antibiotics e.g penicillin group of antibiotics( Amoxycillin in combination with clavulanic acid ) for a week can be taken awaiting pus culture results. Subsequent antibiotic therapy can be guided by the culture report.
It seems that you may be having pyogenic granuloma. It is growth of skin with proliferated capillaries. It is a benign condition. You consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis. It may be treated by him doing electrocautery. It is a simple OPD procedure done under local anaesthesia. You may be alright. I hope you got my answer.
Thanks.
