Sliced The Top Of Finger, Bleeding, Swelled Up. What To Do?

My husband sliced the top of his finger and the area is about the size of a dime - it continues to bleed. Any suggestions? do we need to go to the emergency room? He was using a mandolin (in the kitchen) when he sliced off part of the tip. We have bandaged it and held it up with pressure.

Hi,
It would be unwise to make a judgement on whether he should attend the ER without seeing the would. Certainly, if it is still bleeding, this would be a reason to see a doctor.
I suggest you go to the ER to have the finger assessed and a dressing applied.
