Skin Peeling In Inner Mouth. Due To Not Brushing Teeth For 2 Days Or Something Serious?

hey i went to my boyfriends house one week ago and stayed there two days , i forgot my toothbrush so i didnt brush my teeth 2 days straight, we ate a lot of different things, some of them hot and then i noticed the gums in the inner top right side of my mouth seemed like they peeled off and they were red, i bought a mouth wash and the problem cleared up in a couple of days, but im still thinking about it. could it be an indication of something serious

hi there
thanx for the query
firstly would like to advicce you try never to skip brushing , twice daily is mandatory.
Incase you forgot to bring your toothbrush along buy a new one , toothbrushes are available in most grocery shop, still in case you have no tooth brush then make sure to rinse well with water after every meal.
u can have a sugar free chewing gum, it helps clear all debris in mouth. try to have apple or similar kind of fruits they help in teeth cleansing.
u can have a ROLLY disposable tooth brush which is a small circular disc similar to ur chewing gum but has bristles on it , use it and spit it like a gum later.
now coming on to ur complaint of skin peeling from inside of tooth, it mainly happens due to hard nutty or dried deep fried stuff which is hard on inner lining of skin inside mouth... it gets okie on its own, hope fully nothing much to worry about.
try to stick to proper oral hygiene regime and if it again happens visit a dentist.
thanx
regards

hello there...Dont ever make the mistake of not brushing...on long run that would cause you problems...Since you have not brushed for 2 days, the food you eat get accumulates over your teeth, tongue and gums...that starts discoloring your tongue as well...A whitish layer, slough gets formed over the gums....when you brush or when you use a mouth wash the extra dirt that is the slough gets cleared and leaves an inflamed gum exposed...that would appear red in color... So dont worry....

Hello
Welcome to HCM
I would advise you that never skip brushing even a single day because that's really bad & will lead to many new problems like gingivitis. All food stuff get accumulated & lead to discoloration of teeth.
When that biofilm will be calcified it will lead to calculus formation that will be difficult to removed.
Also use sugar-free chewing gums like orbit.
Regarding your problem skin peeling in inner mouth it might be due to taking some oily stuff. It will resolve on its own, just drink plenty of water.
Consult your dentist for further treatment.

Take Care
Regards
Dr.Neha
