Since Oxazepam Is A Metabolite Of Temazepam, Wouldn T It Make Sense For This Derivative To Show Up In My Screen?

Have been prescribed and taking Xanax and temazepam for many years. Recently tested positive in urine drug screen for benzodiazepines and the derivative oxazepam. Since oxazepam is a metabolite of temazepam, wouldn t it make sense for this derivative to show up in my screen?

Hi.

I understand your concern.

It seems cross positivity. All molecules are benzodiazapine. Xanax, temazepam and oxazepam all are benzodiazapine and they show positive drug screen results if you are on any of these.

Active metabolite like oxazepam has short half lifr and may have chance that it can not detected in screen after few days.

So if you are on benzodiazapine then tests come positive for benzo and oxazepam.

Consult your doctor for further assistance.

I hope I have answered your question.

Thank you.
