Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband fell back against the toilet and broke the tanks - in doing so a piece of the broken tank cut him on his butt. The but is about 4 inches - not deep , did not bleed too much. I put neosporin in it and covered with a bandage.
I understand your concern. If the wound shows no signs of inflammation, which means painful and red skin around the wound and pus comming from the wound than there is no need to visit your GP. Keep the wound clean and put on it sterile bandages without any creams. If your husband develops some of the symptoms mentioned above or if he get fever than visit your GP or ER as soon as you can.
I hope this answer was helpful to you.
