Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Some people said the live typhoid vaccine pills can be outside the fridge for a few hours, but others say if that happens they should discarded. I got my pills at the drugstore and it was about 3 hours before I got home and put them in the fridge. Are the pills good or no good?
As a physician I would like to tell you that oral typhoid vaccine pills are safe to ingest only when they have been maintained and kept for a temperature in between 2-8 degree celsius. As you said you have kept the pills outside for 3 hours, thus I would recommend that you should not take the vaccine pills and discard pills and obtain a new prescription by your healthcare provider.
Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question. Have a nice day.
Regards, Dr. Abhijeet
