Should The Gauze Tissue Be Removed?

I had an incision for an abscess under my arm and it was packed with gauze tissue, the doctor said to leave it in (there s no need to take it out as it has anitbotic medicine in it) but the paperwork says to take it out after 2-3 days. Its been a week, what am I supposed to do?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

You must remove it in two to three days. If you keep it for long, it may lead to complications like abscess or infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
