Should The ER Be Visited For High Fever?

Should I take my 18 year old son to the hospital if his fever doesn t go below 102? He went to the clinic yesterday and was prescribed antibiotics and zyrtec for a possible meningismus. He has headache, fever, dizziness, and some numbness on his fingertips. I gave him Tylenol and it brought his 105 fever to 102. He began taking the medications this morning. A few hours later he experienced some faintness, but he did not faint. He has poor appetite and trouble sleeping.

Hi,

If he is suffering from uncontrolled fever, dizziness or headache. Associated with vertigo, focal neurological deficit then you need to consult your doctor immediately he will investigate through spinal tap and treat you accordingly. Take care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
