Should Right Abdominal Pain Near The Navel, Mild Fever And Sore Throat Be Medically Addressed?

This is the third day (or so) that I have had an ache in my abdomen on my right side above and to the right of the navel. It hurts but is by no means excruciating...just ongoing. It hurts when I push on it. I have had a low grade fever and mild sore throat, but don t know if those are related. They are getting better, but my joints were also aching. By background, I have Crohn s disease, but it is under control. I am having normal bowel movements. Is this anything I should see the doctor about? If so, is there any urgency?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you haveight abdominal pain near the navel, mild fever and sore throat well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons but it seems to me that these symptoms probably occur due to upper respiratory tract infection/ viral fever/ sinusitis. Abdominal pain can occur due to gastric problem like IBS and gastritis , consult gastroenterologist for it . I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles several times a day. You should take steam twice a day. Maintain proper hygiene. Drink plenty of water and liquids. Take tepid sponging if it is severe headache.Take paracetamol for fever and headache. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order test like swab test , blood test , and viral culture test to rule out condition like acid reflux and strep throat . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxiclav at least for 10 days along with decongestant. Eat light and non spicy .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
