Should Increased Dosage Of Zoloft Or Hydroxyzine Be Taken For Persistent Depression?

I am taking hydroxyzine 25mg 4 times daily. I started it about 3 weeks ago and now I feel it isn t working. The doctor put me on this when I went off of Cymbalta and started Zoloft. I have been taking 100mg of Zoloft for a month now and an still depressed. Do I need to get the dosage for the Zoloft raised or the hydroxyzine?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine but can be used for anxiety. If it is not working you can use any other antidepressants.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
