Should I Meet Doctor For Cough, Shortness Of Breath And Lung Pain?

I have a really bad cough and my left lung really hurts when I cough. I have been on anti biotiics for five days but am no better. I feel short of breath and if I bend down I don t feel right. I am flying to Barbados in 12 days time and at the moment don t fancy a long flight, should I go back to the doctors even though I haven t finished the meds.

Hi.

Noted your history of bad cough, pain left side of chest/lung, on antibiotics for 5 days, feel short of breath, want to fly to Barbados in 12 days time, wants to know whether to go back to Doctor or wait till medicines are finished.
First of all, if the problem is recent with breathlessness and coughing then your should consult at the Covid center in your area.
If Covid-19 negative, consult your Doctor immediately and request for investigations.
Tests of blood to see for WBC count, diabetes,liver and kidney functions.
X-ray chest and CT scan of chest if the X-ray is positive or if indicated by your Doctor.
Any other tests like PFT that is pulmonary function tests.
All these will give a proper diagnosis and thus allow proper additional management with symptomatic and supportive treatment and specific treatment as per the cause found.
