Should I Meet A Doctor For Cold, Blood Tinged Mucus And Swollen Glands And Ears?
I have had what I believe to be a cold for about 6 days, came on with just very sore throat then moved to head with a lot of brown and blood tinged mucous last couple days, but I don t seem to be getting better. major fatigue and very swollen glands up and around my ears should I see a doctor?
The cold can last 7 to 10 days (sometimes up to 2 weeks) in some persons. In some cases the cough can last up to 6 weeks.
The fact that you are now experiencing a productive cough may imply that you have bronchitis. This can be viral. The blood is due to inflammation of the airways, is should resolve with the infection.
You can consider the use of a mucolytic to break up the mucus along with a cough suppressants. These are available over the counter. Your local pharmacy would be able to tell you what is available in your area.
I hope this helps
